Location: Norbu is an exclusive destination wedding and corporate event venue located in a pristine and secluded area of the USVI’s famous Peterborg peninsula, in a private gated community on the beautiful north shore of St. Thomas. This beautiful undeveloped oasis is known as Lovenlund Bay (also called the Devil’s Triangle). It gives the villa 180-degree panoramic ocean views over rocky cliffs sparkling with sea salt, with six islands on the horizon: Hans Lollick, Great & Little Tobago, Jost van Dyke, Tortola, & St John. The villa is conveniently located five minutes from the iconic, palm-studded sheltered beach of Magens Bay, and 15-20 minutes from the island’s premier resorts, shopping, and ferries to St. John and the British Virgin Islands.
Design: Villa Norbu is meticulously constructed using sustainable tropical hardwoods, native “blue bit” stone quarried in the USVI, and merchant ballast bricks. The villa is designed for guests seeking an intimate, luxury boutique experience, and includes three unique venues tailored to various events.
Experience & Availability: Norbu is privately owned and managed by a husband/wife team with 30 years of combined hospitality experience in luxury events. Alain & Soolan, of French and Trinidadian descent, bring a long record of making exclusive destination weddings, weddings on the beach, and corporate events a success in the specialized Caribbean region, knowing the challenges inside out, and how to work around them. The team can provide one of the top wedding planners in the USVI, or work closely with your event planner or wedding planner and vendors to help ensure a smooth, natural flow for flawless events from start to finish. Unlike most villas in the USVI, Norbu does not provide overnight sleeping accommodations or require weekly reservation blocks; guests therefore avoid incurring the additional expense of the USVI’s mandatory 12.5% hotel tax on overnight accommodations. Villa Norbu is available for private events 360 days a year.
Catering & Cuisine: Norbu’s passionate and collaborative chef brings a European and Caribbean flair to a wide range of cuisines for your event or wedding on St. Thomas. Norbu catering menus include freshly picked tropical fruits and vegetarian dishes, fresh-caught seafood (fresh local fish like Mahi Mahi & Caribbean lobster), premium steak from Creekstone Farms, and poultry prepared in a state-of-the-art 800 square foot commercial kitchen. Fortessa tableware, designed to enhance the dining experience at luxury clubs and homes, and Schott Zwiesel’s Sur la Table glassware complement Norbu’s cuisine for a delightful catered experience.
Landscape: A wedding photographer’s dream, Villa Norbu has become one of the top wedding locations in the USVI. In addition to the dramatic ocean views, rocky cliffs, and nearby beaches so characteristic of the north shore of St. Thomas, Norbu also offers fragrant tropical gardens with coconut palms, date palms, passionfruit, lemon trees, and other plants hand-selected & seeded by the owners from nearby beaches and sites throughout the Virgin Islands. Other trees and flowers surrounding the villa include vibrant orchids, Bismark palms, frangipani, hibiscus, bougainvillea and deep forest green island ficus. Villa Norbu is a tropical paradise by the sea.
